Bitmain Antminer Z9 Mini – ZCash (Equihash) miner review
On March 3rd, Bitmain made a surprise announcement of their Equihash miner, the Antminer Z9 mini. The Z9 Mini sports 10K sols/s at 300watts power usage, which is 10 times cheaper than a comparable 1080Ti rig while consuming 1/10th of the power. Zcash is the top coin in Equihash algorithm and there are several prominent Equihash coins in the market. Z9 mini is priced at $1999 (plus $145 for shipping by UPS). The first batch is shipping in June 20-30, 2018.
|Profitability (ROI)||Yearly returns|
|Zcash (ZEC)||70 days||$11,000|
Even as there is a probability that major coins will fork to prevent ASIC mining, there will be enough coins available to mine on Equihash algorithm and even the major coins will take atleast a few months to develop and implement the fork.
What coins that can be mined on Bitmain Antminer Z9 Mini? Equihash coins include:
- ZCash (ZEC)
- Bitcoin Gold (BTG)
- Bitcoin Private (BTCP)
- ZClassic (ZCL)
- ZenCash (ZEN)
- Hush (HUSH)
- Komodo (KMD)
Bitmain is currently not providing refunds for the orders being placed for the first batch and as such miners should be very cautious while deciding to buy as its an irreversible decision. Bitmain accepts BTC, BCH and LTC payments for the Antminer Z9 mini.
Note: We, the team at Cryptocoin123.com have ordered a couple of Z9 Minis for testing and we will update on the communication from Bitmain regarding shipping dates and will post performance reviews once we receive our units.
